Plant-based mushroom gravy to serve alongside classic holiday favorites! Enjoy over mashed potatoes, biscuits, and/or other dishes.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp oil or vegan butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dry thyme leaves
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Add flour and cook for 2 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add a small amount of vegetable broth if sticking occurs.
  • Add vegetable broth, mix well, and bring to a boil.
  • Lower heat to medium. Add nutritional yeast, black pepper, garlic powder, thyme, and salt. Mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes and/or biscuits.

Notes

This recipe tastes great over our Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Vegan Biscuits!
For a more creamy texture, add 1/2 cup of plant-based milk and puree the gravy after cooking is complete.
